Well, then you need to acquaint yourself with a few of the new public procurement law (PUBLIC PROCUREMENT ACT 2023), which may be unveiled any time soon. Here are a few things that you should know about the new law:
- The new law makes it mandatory for procuring entities to use e-procurement systems.
- The e-procurement system is known as the National e-Procurement System of Tanzania (NeST), and was introduced in July 2023.
- NeST has been/will be linked with all government systems including TRA, BRELA, NIDA, CRB, ERB, PSPTB, PPRA etc.
- Every Tenderer (Bidder) must register with NeST. You will not be able to participate in any public tender unless and until you register as a tenderer through the NeST. Please get more details at www.nest.go.tz.
- PPRA offers training in NeST to both public and private sector. Visit PPRA website (https://www.ppra.go.tz) to know the dates fixed for NeST training for Suppliers/Contractors.
